IMPORTANT: USE A METAL TAPE
MEASURE FOR ALL MEASUREMENTS
MAKE ALL MEASUREMENTS TO THE
NEAREST 1/8TH INCH AND ROUND
DOWN.
For example, 5/16 would be 1/4,
15/16 would be 7/8, etc…
Note: When
measuring roller shades,
measurements are for tip to tip on
the headrail. Distance from edge of
headrail brackets to fabric on chain
lift side is ~7/8" and ~3/8" on the
opposite side. Distance on spring
lift is ~3/8" on each side. Make
sure and take this into account when
measuring for roller shades.
If you have
any further questions on measuring,
please contact customer service at

BEFORE ordering.
Inside
Mount
Width
Measure
the exact width (left to
right) of the inside edge of
the window in three places
(top, middle and bottom).
Take the smallest of the
three measurements. Write
down that size making sure
that it is the first number
of the measurement. This is
the width you will order.
The factory will make all
necessary deductions to
allow for mounting brackets.
Example: 36 x 60 - 36 is how
wide (left to right) the
blind needs to be. The width
is always the first size in
blind or shade measurements.
Height
Measure the exact height
(top to bottom) from the top
inside edge down to the
window sill in three places.
Take the largest of the
three measurements. Write
down that size making sure
that it is the second number
of the measurement.
Example: 36 x 60 - 60 is the
height the blind needs to
be.
The height (top to bottom)
is always the second number
in a blind or shade
measurement.
PRODUCTION DEPARTMENT WILL
DEDUCT 1/2 INCH OFF OF THE
WIDTH (LEFT TO RIGHT) ON ANY
INSIDE MOUNT BLIND OR SHADE.
ONLY 1/4 INCH WILL BE
DEDUCTED ON VERTICAL BLINDS.
Each product has a minimum
window sill depth for inside
mounting(you can find this
depth on the specs for each
product). Please check this
size to ensure your window
will allow for this depth. |
Outside
Mount
Width
Measure
the exact width (left to
right) of the wooden or
metal window frame or how
wide you would like the
blind or shade to be. Make
sure to measure wide enough
as to cover the entire
window and provide maximum
light gap coverage. Example:
If the window opening is
36", it might be helpful to
order 40". This will provide
2" coverage on each side of
the window. There is no rule
on the width of blinds other
than to make sure that it is
wide enough to cover the
opening. Write down that
size making sure that it is
the first number of the
measurement. Example: 36 x
60 - 36 is how wide (left to
right) the blind needs to
be.
The width (left to right) is
always the first size in
blind or shade measurement.
Height
Measure the height you would
like the blind to be by
measuring top to bottom. We
recommend adding about 3 or
4 inches to this number to
insure maximum light gap
coverage and to cover the
window completely taking in
account the headrail. You
will want to mount the
headrail above the window
frame. Please make a note
that some windows have trim
that might interfere with
mounting so it's important
to measure above the trim if
this is the case.
Once you determine the
desired height (round down
to the nearest 1/8 inch)
write it down.
Example: 36 x 60 - 60 is the
height (top to bottom) the
blind needs to be.
The height (top to bottom)
is always the second size in
a blind or shade
measurement.
THE
FACTORY WILL MAKE NO
DEDUCTIONS ON OUTSIDE MOUNT
BLINDS OR SHADES. |
Outside
Door Mount
Blinds
that are mounted to doors
are almost always outside
mount. Please be sure and
follow the above
instructions for outside
mount installations; however
it is important to note the
following:
-
Make sure the blind is
wide enough as not to
interfere with doorknobs
and other obstructions
and also wide enough for
optimal light gap
coverage. You want your
new blinds to cover the
entire opening of the
window. We strongly
recommend using 1"
blinds on doors for
clearance reasons.
-
Be
sure and add 3 to 5
inches to the length of
your blinds taking in
account the headrail.
You will want to mount
the headrail above the
window. This is
important as you may use
hold down brackets on
the bottom to hold your
blind in place.
